San Diego Airport and Convention Center
Jamul Haven is a short 25 minute drive from the San Diego airport and

San Diego's Seaworld
Seaworld is a popular family theme park, with water based shows,
playgrounds, and rides.  Learn more at

Beaches and Water Sports
San Diego is known for its beaches, both for swimming and surfing. In
a very general sense, Pacific Beach and Mission Beach are popular
with the young adult crowd; La Jolla Cove for older adults and families;
Mission Bay beaches for very young children; and the island of
Coronado to escape the crowds.  You can also rent sailboats, wind
surf, and rent other personal water craft.  Day trips to watch whales
(seasonal) or deep sea fish are available.  Dinner cruises around the
bay are available.  A ferry runs to Coronado Island for pedestrians and
bicycles.  An early 20th century roller coaster still operates at Mission
Beach.  All within 30 minutes.
Harbor Drive, USS Midway, Star of India
Tour a real aircraft carrier, or visit an operational sailing ship built in
1863.  Walk along the park setting of harbor drive.  Visit the shops and
restaurants at Seaport Village.  Cruise ships dock here, and the ferry to
Coronado departs from here as well.

Knotts Soak City
Soak City is a huge water theme park with raft rides, sixteen huge
slides, a wave pool, a lazy river inner tube ride, and so on.

Hang Gliding, Para Sailing, Sky Diving
Tandem hang gliding, para sailing, and sky diving are all
available within a 30 minute drive.  Or drive to the Torrey
Pines glider port and just enjoy watching the hang gliders.

Old Town San Diego
Old Town San Diego has over 150 restaurants, shops, and
historic sites.  The ghost tour is particularly popular,
including a visit to the Whaley house, built over a gallows
tree and widely acknowledged to be the most haunted
house in the U.S.

Cultural Events
Outdoor concerts on the Bay throughout the summer,
outdoor jazz concerts at Humphreys, Opera, world class
Shakespeare festival, more than fifteen live theaters, and
three comedy clubs all within a 30 minute drive.
