Hiking
Right outside the Jamul Haven bed and breakfast entrance
a hiking trail climbs approximately 1,200 feet and then
meanders along a mountain ridge for several miles.  Also
within 0.1 miles of our bed and breakfast you'll find  
relatively level paths along and through the Steele Canyon
Golf Course and surrounding mountains.  We can also
recommend other hikes in San Diego county to waterfalls,
scenic beaches, desert canyons, etc.
Golf
There are three golf courses within a few miles of Jamul
Haven.  Steele Canyon is walking distance and is
considered to be one of Southern California's finest golf
clubs,  Steele Canyon has been awarded Golf Digest's
Four point five Star Rating, one of only three golf clubs so
honored in San Diego County. The 27-hole championship
course was personally designed by Gary Player with
respect and appreciation for the natural beauty of the
terrain. Each of the three nines offers a distinct
environment and type of play for all levels of golfers with
the rugged Canyon Course's dramatic shot making
challenges and breathtaking elevations, the Ranch
Course winding through the fields of a working ranch and
the Meadow course stretching along the valley floor with
beautiful woodlands and streams.  Visit

Cottonwood is a 36 hole course a short golf cart ride
away (www.cottonwoodgolf.com).  Sycuan Resort is  3.8
miles away, and features a 54 hole course.  
Bicycling
Right outside the Jamul Haven bed and breakfast gate
you'll find some of the best bike trails in San Diego county.  
For the youngster or new beginner there are decomposed
granite paths and secluded private roads with limited traffic.
 If you feel more ambitious there are relatively level rides
with bike lanes to numerous nearby attractions (see below).
 For the ambitious biker, this location is a popular starting
spot for extended hill training by San Diego bike clubs and
the U.S. Olympic Team.  We have bicycles available for
your use.

and guided rides through thousands of miles of trails in the
